Privacy Policy

Effective October 1, 2026

JobQue watches company careers pages for you and messages you on WhatsApp when a matching role opens. JobQue is run by jobque.ai ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to delete it.

What we collect

  • From WhatsApp, when you message us: your phone number, the profile name you set in WhatsApp, your WhatsApp username if you have one, and WhatsApp's account ID for you. If you reached us from an ad, which ad it was.
  • Worked out from your number: your country and time zone, so we show jobs in the right country and don't message you at night.
  • What you tell us: the companies, roles and places you want us to watch, and your messages to us. We keep a log of our chat so the bot can follow the conversation and we can fix problems.
  • People you know at a company: if you tell us someone's first name (for example "I know James at Helcim"), we keep it with that company so we can remind you to ask them for a referral when a role opens. We never contact them, and you can change or remove the name on your dashboard anytime.
  • How you use JobQue: which job links you tap, when you last wrote, your invite code and who invited you, and where you came from when your first message says so (for example "Hi JobQue (from reddit)").
  • Visits to our website: which page you opened, the site or tagged link that brought you there, and whether you tapped "Start on WhatsApp". We use no cookies for this and don't store your IP address: each visit is counted with a code that changes every day and can't be traced back to you. When someone probes our site for weaknesses or sends too many requests, we keep the first half of their IP address so we can block repeat attempts.
  • Billing: your plan, trial and renewal dates, and whether payments succeed. Stripe handles your card and billing address. We never see or store your card number.
  • Dashboard sign-in: one-time login codes (stored only in scrambled form) and a sign-in cookie.

We don't ask for your CV, and we don't buy data about you from anyone.

Why we use it

  • To run JobQue: watch the companies you choose, send matching roles, keep your list and progress, and run the daily check-in (which you can turn off by sending stop reminders).
  • To bill your subscription and calculate sales tax.
  • To keep JobQue working and safe: preventing spam and abuse, and fixing messages the bot didn't understand. We keep those for 90 days to improve the bot.
  • To run the invite program, for example telling you when a friend joins with your invite.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • Meta (WhatsApp) carries our messages. Meta's own privacy policy applies to your use of WhatsApp.
  • Stripe processes payments and sales tax. It receives your phone number to link your subscription to your JobQue account.
  • Our hosting provider runs our server in Toronto, Canada.
  • Our job-search service receives only the company, role and place to search for. It never receives your name or number.
  • Anthropic (Claude) helps us understand messages our own rules can't. It receives that message, the companies, roles and places on your list, and our last reply to you, but never your name or number. Anthropic doesn't use this data to train its models.
  • Employers' websites: when you tap a job link, you go to the employer's site, and their policies apply there.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

Some of these providers, including Meta, Stripe and Anthropic, may process data outside Canada, for example in the United States. Where that happens, the data is subject to that country's laws.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, companies and chat history: while your account is open.
  • Messages the bot didn't understand: 90 days.
  • Website visit counts and security records: 60 days.
  • Backups: up to 30 days, then overwritten.
  • If you book a free strategy call: the email and time you give us, to set it up. They go when your account does.
  • Payment records: Stripe keeps these for as long as tax and financial law requires.

If you contact us for your organization

When you ask for a call on our career services or outplacement page, we collect your name, work email, organization, its size and anything you write in the message. We use it only to reply to you and to set up a pilot. Only the JobQue team sees it. We keep it for 12 months after our last conversation, or delete it sooner if you ask.

Your choices

  • Delete everything: send delete my account on WhatsApp and confirm. We delete your account, companies, chat history and invite code right away, and stop your subscription from renewing. It's gone from backups within 30 days.
  • Stop messages: send STOP. Send START to come back.
  • Fewer messages: send stop reminders to turn off the daily check-in.
  • See or correct your data: your dashboard shows your companies, matches and plan. For a full copy of everything we keep, or to correct something, email legal@jobque.ai. We reply within 30 days.
  • If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, contact us first. In Canada you can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or in Québec to the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections. Our server accepts only encrypted web traffic, settings and keys are kept out of our code, and login codes are stored in scrambled form. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach puts you at real risk of harm, we'll tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Age

JobQue is for people aged 16 and over. Subscribing requires being the age of majority where you live.

Person responsible for privacy

Our privacy team is responsible for how JobQue protects personal information. Contact: legal@jobque.ai.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you on WhatsApp before the change takes effect.
